Here’s your first look at the poster for Zhang Ziyi version of “Mulan”. Or as the film is now officially known, “Mulan: The Legend of a Woman Warrior”. (If you know anything about Hollywood and Asian martial arts movies, then you know that studios love adding the word “Legend” and “Warrior” to English versions of Chinese movie titles.)The film will cover much the same ground as the Disney animated movie and the recent “Mulan” movie starring Vicki Zhao. The only difference is that this one will star Ziyi and be directed by Hollywood action guy Jan de Bont, and will be coming to you in, of course, 3D.
A combination of Western money and Eastern stars, the film will be shot in English and, I suspect, an International cast will be added as the star of production nears.
