Directly from Cinemaquette CEO George Sohn himself, CBD is both
honoured and thrilled to be given this exclusive opportunity to
reveal Volume XII of the Cinemaquette line for everyone in this
galaxy, not to mention those far, far away…
Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, looks the very
personification of evil as he stands 29″ tall over an Imperial
style base, lightsabre ignited, fist raised and garbed in his
faithfully reproduced robes and armour. More machine than man, the
technological terror Cinemaquette have constructed features a host
of LEDs for illumination, and is even rumoured to feature sound
clips taken digitally from the film.
CBD can also exclusively reveal that this piece is pegged for
pre-order on Cinemaquette’s Official Website this week, which is as
I am sure many of you know, a very significant week in the Star
Wars calendar. Demand is likely to be very high, so an early
pre-order is recommended.
In case any readers are wondering why this image has the Darth
Vader plaque and not the Empire Strikes Back plaque shown in the
Blog earlier this week, the answer is that the piece comes with
both. The plaques are in fact interchangeable, and can be
positioned at the front and back.
Judging by this photograph it looks like there have been several
tweaks made to the costume, colour scheme and base since the piece
was unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con last year. As such, there
will be another article following shortly that looks at this in a
little more detail.
As always CBD are very grateful to George for providing access to
these materials, and it continues to be a privilege to bring these
stories to you all. CBD can’t wait to get a look at more images,
and a glimpse underneath Vader’s mask at Steve Wang’s Sebastian
Shaw portrait. CBD will also publish the official measurements of
this piece as they become available, for those wishing to construct
showcases and so forth.
Head over to the Darth Vader Cinemaquette discussion thread to
catch all of the reaction.
CBD respectively requests that the Cinemaquette Darth Vader image
above is not posted elsewhere on the internet, or manipulated in
any way (digitially or otherwise), without the prior written
consent of Cinemaquette and CBD. You may however link to this blog
entry and the discussion thread if you wish.
