Also die MDF Platten sind gekauft, mit 3mm Stärke für den Rahmen und die Maskierung.
Nutzt jmd. von Euch auch die Magnetlösung?
Was für Magnete und vor allem was für Magnetband nutzt Ihr?
Die Maskierung besteht aus einer 220cmx20xcm Platte.
Gibt es Magnete, die sowas auch durch den 3cm dicken Keilrahmen hindurch noch ohne Probleme halten können?

Sagt mal.....weiss jemand wo man am besten hochwertiges Leinwandtuch als Meterware kaufen kann? Gibt es vielleicht Tuch von Tension als Meterware?

Tension heißt Spannung und ist eher ein Begriff für Leinwände mit Seilspannung.

Meinte ja auch "Stewart"......gibts da irgendwo vergleichbare Tücher oder werde ich eh keinen Unterschied sehen,im Gegensatzt zu meinem 150€ Tuch? Gain 1,0

Hab mich jetzt doch für ein günstiges Tuch entschieden und zwar das Cinetec 1.30 ( 300cm x 128cm 21:9 Cinemascop) Das Tuch schlägt sich erstaunlich gut gegen 4 Stewart Tücher die locker das zehnfache oder mehr kosten würden. Das Cinetec kostet in der besagten Grösse gerademal 190€

Gestern kam endlich meine Alphaluxx Motorleinwand, 3m Breit (Sicht 2,90m), 21:9.

Hatte alles soweit montiert und und mit Freude den Knopf der Fernbedienung gedrückt:D...

...dann die Ernüchterung, hatte sie mit 18cm unterem Vorlauf in Auftrag gegeben, das musste ja wieder schief gehen!:mad:

Also alles wieder abgebaut und geklärt, aber irgendwie stellt man sich jetzt quer, obwohl ich es schriftlich in Auftrag gegeben habe!

So heute alles geklärt, neue Leinwand wird hergestellt, jetzt mit unterem Vorlauf wie bestellt,
man hatte mir auch einen erheblichen Preisnachlass vorgeschlagen, den ich zu gerne angenommen hätte,
aber der untere Vorlauf ist mir sehr wichtig gerade bei der Optik.

Haben eigentlich schon andere hier Erfahrungen mit Alphaluxx gemacht oder eine zu hause, habe hier im Forum noch nichts davon gelesen???

Ein ausführlicher Bericht folgt wenn die neue Leinwand da ist und alles ausgiebig getestet wurde!

Thoughts about my Alphaluxx multiformat screen

In November 2011 I bought a 2,6 meter wide Alphaluxx multiformat screen for 2100 euros including shipping to Denmark. I found the price appealing. I have had quite a bit of trouble with the screen and can certainly not recommend it to anyone. I want to share the experience with others who consider buying a multiformat screen.
Here is the story: Through a long email correspondence I ordered a 2,6m wide 16:9 multiformat tension screen. The correspondence with Alphaluxx has normally been easy and pleasant. Herr Ralph Marchner responds quickly and is polite.
I received the screen in November 2011, but was not able to install it for the first couple of weeks because I had to finish the construction of the homecinema. I open the box and see that the mount in one end is in silver(no paint) and the other is in white.




I contact Herr Marschner. He says it is a mistake and will pay for painting costs. Really good service so far. I refuse his offer because I don’t find it to be too big a deal.
A couple of weeks later I am ready to install the screen. First thing I notice is that the screen is 4:3 and not 16:9 as we agreed on in the email. Next thing I notice is a long horizontal scratch in the screen itself.



I am pretty sure the scratches are caused by the transportation of the screen, but I am not 100% sure. The bottom bar was not secured very well and actually lies on top of the screen fabric, so I expect that it could have caused the damage due to vibrations from the courier truck. Herr Marschner tells me to clean it with glass cleaner and even brake cleaner, but of course the scratches will not come off. He agrees to send me a new fabric including a new motor, so again very helpful, but now with the comment that I should feel lucky? I think Alphaluxx should send me a new screen on the fact that it is 4:3 and not 16:9 as I ordered alone! It doesn´t seem professional to me! There was made no contract besides what we agreed on in the email.
It takes quite a while for the new screen to arrive but that is ok, because of the holidays. With a little trouble I manage to install the new screen. The new screen has not been prepared for install, so the screen cannot roll down without me turning the screw inside the housing many many turns. It would have been nice if that had been done for me or it could have come with clear instructions how to do so. It caused a bit of confusion, but I managed to install it without damaging anything.
Now for the screen itself: I had some trouble making it plane/even. I made sure that the housing and screen was 100% level. I tried everything changed the tension, tilting the housing small distance up and down but nothing helps. I leave it for several weeks to see if that helps, but it doesn´t help. I ask for help (again) and refer to the pictures below. It is especially in the bottom corners the fabric has not straightened out.




Herr Marschners advice is to loosen the tension a bit but it is loosened and off course I have tried all. Now I have given up, and regret that I did not buy a screen at a local (and more expensive) dealer. I notice that the bottom bar is not 100% straight. If I roll it half a turn inside the fabric the tension in the screen changes very much. For the screen to be straight I have to pull down very gently in both ends of the bar.
I make 2 small weights out of melted lead and attach to each corner to straighten out the screen and it really helps. See pictures. Now the “waves” only irritates me when I have a uniform background, like when watching football on green grass. Now I am 85% satisfied with my screen J





Notice above the screw that you have to tie/fasten the tension string to, not very practical.
A few words on the tension system: I believe that it is useless on a multiformat screen like this, because everytime you roll the screen up, it changes the tension a bit. The tension is also very different in different formats. It varies from too tight in one position to very loose in another position. I could certainly have saved those 200 euros for the tension system.

A couple of words on the masking screen. The masking screen is simply a screen fabric that is turned around so the black side is turned towards the viewer. The idea is OK, but there are two problems. The black side is actually very shiny, so at bright images all the light is not absorbed as it should be. I have black molton in the front stage of my home cinema which absorbs light much better than the masking screen. Perhaps I can glue black cloth to the masking fabric to make it more absorbant? Below is a picture of masking screen taken with with flash on. The amount of reflected light is obvious.




Second problem with the masking screen is that it is not level when the projection screen is level. Let me illustrate (exaggerating). The height difference between left and right side is about 1 cm in real life with 21:9.



There are also things that I find very good with this screen. The motor are precise and easy to use with the remote. Remote is very simple to use (I wish it had backlight so it could be used in the dark). Replies and answers from Alphaluxx are quick and polite. But in general I wish I had spent a bit more money on a quality multiformat screen.
