zur akira bluray gibts ja wegen dem 192khz sampling auch tests und
reviews weil da eben dieses "unterbewusste" angesprochen werden
soll was bei uns im gehirn wohl intensive auswirkungen haben
muss..

Both the audio and video teams worked on
AKIRA concurrently. The film's dense aesthetic and cutting
edge soundtrack, proved to be a major challenge for the compression
team. Constant communication was required to make sure that they
not only stayed within blu-ray's 48 mbps maximum combined bitrate
requirement, but that the final product would actually fit onto a
normally spacious BD-50. Even at a running time of only 124
minutes, AKIRA pushes the boundaries of what can be
compressed to a Bluray. The root of this challenge lies in
the 192khz/24-bit 5.1 track. Uncompressed linear PCM at this
resolution needs an astonishing 28 megabits per second (mbps) of
transfer ......

In the booklet included with the disc, there is
a lengthy discussion of a theory known as the hypersonic effect,
and how it was utilized in remastering the audio track for this
Blu-ray release. I can't say I understood everything included in
the 10-page explanation, but I did find it interesting that the
film's original composer, Shoji Yamashiro, is also a professor at
the National Institute of Multimedia Education, and has published
books on "Sound Ecology". His studies have led to the theory of the
hypersonic effect, and he was instrumental in remastering the high
bit-rate TrueHD track for this Blu-ray release.
:P
I know only one thing. When I sleep, I know no
fear, no trouble, no bliss. Blessing on him who invented sleep. The
common coin that purchases all things, the balance that levels
shepherd and king, fool and wise man. There is only one bad thing
about sound sleep. They say it closely resembles death. -
