NEW YORK, November 10, 2011 – Max
Brooks’ novel, WORLD WAR Z: An Oral History of the Zombie
War, published by Three Rivers Press, an imprint of the
Crown Publishing Group,has now sold more than 1 million copies in
print and digital formats combined. The milestone was announced
today by Tina Pohlman, VP, Publisher, Trade Paperbacks, Crown
Publishing Group.
Paramount Pictures will be releasing
the film WORLD WAR Z starring Brad Pitt on December 21,
2012.
Originally published in hardcover in
September 2006, WORLD WAR Z has appeared on the hardcover,
paperback and mass market New York Times bestseller lists
for a combined total of 62 weeks. Brooks’ previous title, THE
ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE, a pop culture classic originally published
in 2003, has now sold almost 1.4 million copies.
Brooks, a former writer for
Saturday Night Live, said about his bestselling novel:
“With this book, I wanted to answer some of the questions I’d
already had about a global zombie pandemic; How would our
government react? How would other countries’ governments react? And
what would ordinary citizens around the world do to survive? For
me, zombies are a great way to explore how we, as an entire planet,
respond to the threat of extinction.”
Ms. Pohlman added, “We are thrilled to
celebrate this million-copy milestone with Max Brooks. His
extraordinarily imaginative and exhaustively researched oral

The translation rights to WORLD WAR Z
have been sold in 22 countries.

Wann sind die eigentlich mit dem Dreh fertig? Hab da momentan das
gefühl das die Dreharbeiten schon ein halbes Jahr oder sogar noch
länger schon andauern.

Also letzte Woche konnte ich Meldungen über den Abschluss der
Dreharbeiten finden, da Brad Pitt sich wohl nun auf die Promotion
von MONEYBALL konzentriert und deshalb auch direkt mit dem gesamten
Branjelina-Clan nach Tokyo gedüst ist. Wahrscheinlich werden noch
ein paar Second-Unit-Drehs erledigt, aber ansonsten dürfte es nun
in die Postproduktion gehen.

"I did read the book first," Hargrove
says of being cast in the zombie epic,
"but my
character isn't in the book. There's now me, my little sister and
my mom in the movie... I play Rachel Lane in this movie. She's kind
of like a good kid, but she's sort of acting a little bit mean in
it. She doesn't talk that much because she's shock because of the
zombies and all that stuff everywhere."

Bin mal auf die ersten aussage kräftigen Trailer gespannt.
Und ich mag den Pitt vor der Kamera, wäre schade wenn er sich
zurück zieht.

Ach Gott, wieviele Schauspieler und Regisseure haben in den letzten
2-3 Jahren ihren Rückzug angekündigt und dann doch wieder davon nen
Rückzieher gemacht....würde es zwar auch sehr sehr schade finden,
aber irgendwie glaub ich nicht das es passiert. ;)

Ich denke das er dennoch sich zu paar Gastrollen überreden
lässt.
So das du ihn hin und wieder mal in dem ein oder anderen Film sehen
wirst.
