Hot Toys Awards of 2011

Approaching the end of this year, we are very happy to have received great awards from licensors and media which recognize Hot Toys’ success in producing high quality movie-accurate collectible products.

Disney Consumer Products – 2011 Outstanding Products Award

This year, we are awarded by our licensor Disney Consumer Products for the Outstanding Products Award for the first time which recognize the success of our Disney and Marvel collectible products. The award was presented in the Disney event in Shanghai, China earlier.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products 2011 – Best High-End Product Award

For the second consecutive year, Hot Toys again wins the Best High-End Product Award of Warner Bros. Consumer Products 2011, which was presented at the Warner event in Japan end of last month.

TOUCH Brands 2011 by East Touch Magazine

Last but not least, we are very glad to be awarded the Touch Brands Award by the prominent Hong Kong trendy lifestyle magazine East Touch for the first year end of last month and we are the only winner from the collectible category. Hurray!

These news are very encouraging for us before the festive season!

Mich hat es schon erwischt. Jack Sparrow wird meine erste Errungenschaft werden und ist bestellt. Das führt dazu, das neben meinem BD-Sammelwahn nochmal zusätzlich kräftig Löcher in den Hosentaschen entstehen werden.:confused:;)

Artists’ Words of 2011 – Part 1

Making of Predator by master Joseph Tsang

To wrap up the year of 2011, for Joseph, the most satisfied project is Classic Predator, which actually he thinks the design is very closed to the Predator from the first movie in 1987 and he is very much inspired by this movie which he started to fall in love into creatures.

Recently, he is working on the 1/4th scale of Classic Predator from the first movie, which allows more room to showcase more obvious details, will be definitely a surprise for fans and he believes that most Predator fans will like it too!

Besides, he is also working on the 1/6th scale of Predator from the Predator 2 movie, which will also be an amazing piece of works! Stay tuned for more Joseph’s marvelous works in 2012!

Artists’ Words of 2011 – Part 2

Hello everyone! I am Kojun!

2011 is almost done.
2012 is coming. Happy New Year, Hot Toys fans!
Please keep good health and take care!

I have joined Hot Toys for almost 3 years.
At the end of this year, I always think of myself and how my work was in this year.
I am feeling a bit sad, because for me my work is not very good this year.
The number 1 memory of my work is Captain Jack Sparrow.
I want to show you guys this photo –

We didn’t show you guys this photo before. All head sculpts look like the same but actually each of them is of a bit different style.
This is really a hard job, because I have sculpted many different heads for licensor’s approval, and Howard and JC want to have the hair separated one by one.

For this figure, it has taken a long time and I have received a lot of comments from JC.
I have thought of million times about dropping this job, but I cannot, because I have talked about it to some media in the interviews.
Actually I thought if my talent is not enough…

Whether the final head is good or not, working hard or not doesn’t matter anymore,
because I am really happy that I have a chance to make this figure and my favorite character can be made into a figure!
For me, I just can’t stop this job (figure sculpting).



And I want to tell you guys this good news – in 2012, I want to try Wolverine again!
He is really also my favorite character. I think the quality before is not good enough and it is a good timing to work on this again as Hot Toys has already confirmed with licensor on this. I am really excited and will do this with my full power!
