My God. My...my...god.

I'll be the first to admit I'm the textbook type of fan who gets far too overly excited with every trailer release...but having just come back from seeing the Skyfall IMAX trailer the proper way, I can honestly say - with no hesitation - that it's one of the best trailers I've ever seen cut.

That bootleg doesn't even come close to conveying what a full screen does. Everything about that trailer is amazing. It's so good, so Bond - that it's overpowering.

The intensity is as high as a Bond trailer's ever been, by sheer miles. The music is indeed the James Bond theme, re-orchestrated and remixed in a way that we've never heard before - albeit heavily disguised and with added dimension, likely why many haven't come away with a sense that it's there. My sister - call her, a casual Bond fan - even leaned over to me and said, "I'd recognize those chords anywhere." And the sheer speed of the trailer is just insane. I think they show off parts of every major sequence.

Deakins' cinematography floored me. This film is in a completely different league than anything we've ever seen from Bond before. It's far too early and a ridiculously small sample size, but if any Bond ever has had a shot at a cinematography Oscar - this is going to be the one.

The action. Casino Royale's action is back. It's not the carelessly strung together, confusing, second-unit drivel Dan Bradley assembled and Pearson/Chesse hacked up and served to us on a dish labelled "Quantum of Solace." There's narrative. Impact. Style. It feels like Bond action the way Bond action feels different from all other action.

And Bond.

It's just...it's classic Bond. Barring some horrible script screwup, I can't foresee not loving this movie. Every inch of every shot of that trailer feels like it's classic Bond, a highly stylized mid-1960s iconic touchstone with a contemporary edge and overtones. Craig oozes the Bond persona as far as it can possibly go to a respective, non-parody point. It's brilliant. . The way he teases 'Q' is delivered with the dry, dark, slightly damaged humour that James Bond just...is. And when he says "the line," it's like he physically leans into it.

Phew. Had to get that out. Legitimately the best 'trailer' experience I've ever had in a cinema. I'm 27 and cynical. I don't get moved like that. Ever. And I got moved."

Leaks reveal James Bond's involvement in Olympic opening ceremony

The rumours continue that Daniel Craig will appear in character as James Bond during the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games this week. Now that the kick-off event is just a few days away, some of the finer details are making their way to the gossip columns.

In an entry for The Daily Beast, Royal reporter Tom Skyes has given a run down on what the world can expect to see when they tune in on Friday.

...a short film will begin, which will be shown on giant screens at the Olympic stadium and on TV at the same time. It features everybody’s favourite special agent, James Bond aka Daniel Craig, arriving with a crunch of gravel at Buckingham Palace. He makes his way inside, and the next clip is THE QUEEN HERSELF tapping Mr Craig on the shoulders and uttering the immortal words, “Arise Sir James”. This is the first time the Queen has ever engaged in a fictional scenario on camera.

Sir James is then given a special mission, to open the London 2012 games. He heads outside and jumps into a waiting chopper, emblazoned with a Union Jack. This then speeds up the Thames, flying underneath Tower Bridge (the footage was filmed in sunny June).

Back at the stadium, the air is filled with the sound of whirling helicopter blades, as the very same chopper now magically appears above the stadium in real time, assuming it is not shot down by the surface to air missiles located on a nearby London tower block. A hatch opens. A rope drops.

AND DANIEL CRAIG ABSEILS INTO THE STADIUM!!
