Johanna Constantine gibt es aber in den Comics aber wirklich, ist da Vorfahre von John und lebt im 18. Jahrhundert 

Ja, steht auch im verlinkten Artikel. Laut Gaiman ist das aber nicht diese Variante sondern John als Frau.

"Morpheus encounters John in the third issue when he seeks the chain-smoking magician's help in retrieving his sand pouch. Then, much later in the saga, the Lord of Dreams meets Constantine's 18th century ancestor Lady Johanna. It's clear from the trailer, however, that the latter will be replacing her great-great-great grandson for the purposes of this show.
Gaiman describes Johanna as "powered-up" version of John with a higher class of clientele (including the Queen and the Royal Family), but still just as "heartbroken, wounded, bitter" as her male counterpart.

We're not sure why Johanna was brought into the 21st century to take John's place in the story, but it might have something to do with the planned HBO Max series focusing on the DC Comics Hellblazer."

Die ersten Kritiken sind sehr positiv. Es gibt wenig Anbindungen ans DC Universe, was wohl Absicht war.

Die ersten vier folgen sind auf hohen Niveau, Darsteller, Setting, Story baut enorm Spannung auf.
Hat echt Potential zum Hit werden für Netflix.

Gestern die erste Folge gesehen, nicht mein Geschmack
Allen anderen gute Unterhaltung :)

Bin aktuell bei Folge 7 und muss sagen, es gefällt mir sehr gut. Hatte schon vorher die Audible Vertonung gehört und habe bei der Serie permanent das Gefühl, es schon mal "gesehen" zu haben. 
Nur schade dass man die Chance nicht genutzt hat, Tom Ellis als Lucifer Morningstar und Lesley-Ann Brandt als Mazikeen in Folge 4 zu casten. Das wäre ein i-Tüpfelchen gewesen.

Hab nun alle Folgen durch und bin schwer begeistert, hoffe da kommt eine weitere Staffel
Ein weitere Top Serie für Netflix, Setting sehr hoch angesetzt kommt nichts billig rüber.
Bei manche Szenen gehts extrem brutal rüber, also keine Teeny Kram
