Alex,
Can the red part of the lightsaber come out of the new Vader? I
want to display it without the cheap plastic red part...please make
sure to bring that up to the team. It would be best if it's
optional to have it or not.
Zitat:
The lightsaber will not be able to be
detached from the hand. The whole gauntlet/hand with attached saber
would come off the piece for shipping purposes.
Why was the light up for chest and belt not included in the
product? Was there really no plan to put them on? Even darth malgus
pf have these lights on his costume. That would be a huge fail
considering its vader and those lights are symbolic in his costume.
I hope that will be added. Thanks
Zitat:
There is a plan to add additional light
up features on the piece. If it's confirmed that we can add more
light-up features we will update the site with new photos and
text.
Hi SSAlex,
Just wondering if the body suit on the new Vader PF is fabric or
sculpted.
Thank you
Zitat:
The body suit is fabric
Hi Alex,
does Disney have anything to do with the price hikes in Star Wars
statues?
Zitat:
Licensing fees will always play a role
(and Star Wars is one of the most expensive licenses…even more so
since Disney took even more control within the last few months) but
manufacturing costs on these products increases with every new
piece (no matter the license, no matter the character, no matter
the product). So factor in one of the most expensive licenses one
can have and the ever increasing costs to produce the
characters/creatures and there will be price increases for
them.
Hi Alex... Not a question just a comment to pass on to the team. I
stated this in the Vader thread but thought I would share.
Do to the Higher price, No Ex, No ES, and over a year wait for
release (and probably longer) Sideshow has taken the fun out of
Pre-ordering this item. I feel no need to rush. I was excited about
it but then the lack of an EX and no ES deflated the
excitement.
I am not someone who has to have an ES or an EX but combined the
price for this item along with the other things I mentioned and I
just can't see why I need to order.
Now... because I am waiting I could end up spending my money
elsewhere or wait for Hot Toys to release a 1/4 Vader. The Hype for
the item could leave and I may decide (as others have) that I
really don't need a 500.00 Vader that will not retain it's
Value.
This is not a slam of SSC. Just an observation of what I see as a
bad business decision. I love SSC and have been pretty much happy
with all the products I have owned. But this move makes little to
no sense.
Had they offered an EX and then had the Reg edition remain open at
least there would be some fun to be had. Like Your R2 and 3PO. But
alas this offers nothing that says I have to get this now.
I have noticed that both here and on the SSC thread that there have
not been a lot of "Ordered" posts. With a character like Vader you
would think you would see post after post of that. However... Not
the case. Again I think it comes down to No ES, No EX, extremely
long wait to get product in hand and an extremely high price is
just too much for the fans to swallow. Oh and add in the lack of
light up feature for the chest and belt also.. Which I think fans
see as a step back since the original PF could do this.
I know we make a small portion of the customers but I think we
probably represent the shopping habits of the customers pretty
well.
Anyways it's just an observation I made and explaining why I, who
is usually a Day one pre order guy, and others have not ordered
this yet.
Thanks for your time,
Eric
Zitat:
I certainly understand your point of
view and thank you so much for sharing it. :-)
Some of the bigger characters (Vader, Hulk…for example) are going
to have occasions in which we will continue to produce them for a
much longer time frame. These will typically be the Limited Edition
items.
Why would we do that? Some may ask. There are characters that we
feel should be available for folks to pick up a year (maybe even
much longer) down the road without being met with that Sold Out
message.
Some say that it's just the nature of the hobby. That if you missed
out you missed out and go to the secondary market to find it. I can
very much understand that viewpoint (really, I do!). But it really
becomes a no win situation. Make certain items available for a
longer time period and a portion of the collecting base won't be
happy because it doesn't have a numbered edition size, there's no
fun in being able to get something easily, and so on. Whereas
another portion of the collector base is happy about it due to the
fact they have the ability to pick up their favorite character if
they come in to collecting a little late after a release or have
the chance to see in hand photos and so on. Then if you make it
more limited you have another mix of happy/unhappy folks for other
reasons. This all leads to the no win.
This isn't all to say that the route is to make everything Limited
Edition. FAR from it and the majority of releases will have
numbered editions. It's just on occasion some of the bigger
characters may have a release in which they will be made available
for a longer time period without a numbered edition.
As for Vader specifically, his exclusive had to be dropped shortly
before Pre-Order. It simply wasn't working for the piece, so it was
excluded.
I can only hope that some future releases will bring about
excitement to the collector base that is feeling less than excited
(and yes I know many folks reply back to my final comment will be
related to lower Edition Sizes that will bring about more
excitement. That want/cry has been (and continues to be) passed
along to the appropriate folks that need to hear that feedback).
:-)
