Mandalay Vision und Vertigo Entertainment kooperieren für The Voices, einen psychologischen Thriller mit Marjane Satrapi auf dem Regiestuhl.

Das Drehbuch stammt aus der Feder von Paranormal Activity 2 Autor Michael R. Perry und stand lange Zeit auf der begehrten Black List in Hollywood (eine Auflistung mit den besten bislang unverfilmten Drehbüchern auf dem Markt).

The Voices wäre das US-amerikanische Regiedebüt für Marjane Satrapi, die mit ihrem gelobten Animationsfilm Persepolis bereits für einen Oscar nominiert war.

The Voices erzählt von Jerry, einem schizophrenen Arbeiter bei einem Hersteller für Badewannen, der ungewollt einen Mord begeht und anschließend für das Verschwinden seiner blutigen Spuren sorgen muss. Bei dem heiklen Unterfangen handelt er auf das Geheiß von zwei Tieren, einer Katze und einem Hund, die zu ihm sprechen.

Mit einem Produktionsbeginn ist nicht vor dem Frühjahr 2013 zu rechnen.
