Akira... great film, better the comic.
I have some McFarlane figures too.

I started collecting McFarlane figures, then every new statue was
more expensive than the last one, and finally Im buying only
Sideshow.
I think too many people have made this too

In some way or the other.. indeed! In my case it was NECA
that brought me to Toybiz (Marvel Legends) and Toybiz that lead to
Hot Toys... then later on, I bought my first Sideshow statue
(Mystique Comiquette) and the rest is history. ;)
Akira - yea well, I read the first comic book, when the colored
version came out in Germany, but that's a while ago and I don't
remember much. Maybe I buy the comics again some time. I think the
original version in black and white is closer to what the author
had in mind.

One question I wrote in other forum (lets see what do you think
here):
How much would you pay for a statue with / without the original
boxes and foams?
For example, Hulk PF. What difference of prices do you think?
:)
(and please, sorry for my bad english, sometimes I write 'bad
constructed phrases', I know, but I think its easy to understand me
even with my mistakes).

Hi Txema :)
There were also a few discussions around here about the worth of
collectibles without the original shippers.
It turned out that the original packaging is quite worthy, even the
brown shipper around the glossy box.
Without the original brown shipper, there might be a loss of around
10 to 20 percent... but without the original glossy box and
especially the foam, it might reduce the worth up to 30% and more,
because it is very difficult to ship such things without the
original packaging.
This goes especially for the high-end collectibles, how would one
ship a Hulk PF and assure that it would arrive undamaged at the
buyer?
And by the way, don't worry about your English, mine isn't perfect
either, and as you can see, you're perfectly understood. ;)

Well, I don't know about the price the seller wants you to pay for
it, but I would certainly make him attentive to the fact that you
want an undamaged piece for the price you pay.
At the end, one might even consider the packaging to be garbage,
but the content certainly not!!! ;)
//EDITH: ...and what if you would get the Hulk in perfect condition
and would like to sell it later on? ...that's why the original
packaging is quite worthy! ;)

Yes, I know, but it could be the only way to find a Hulk in a price
I can pay.
Well, I mean in a price I find correct to pay. I can pay more than
1000 € for a Hulk, but I just don´t want to.
