Before Clive Barker got famous with the terrifying Hellraiser franchise in the summer of 1987, one of his short stories from Volume 3 of his Books of Blood anthology was adapted into a savage little grindhouse horror flick called Rawhead Rex.

Directed by George Pavlou, it's borderline campy, insanely gory, but features a revolting pagan demon terrorizing an English trailer park and village. Its cult status has grown over the years as classic, VHS-era '80s horror movies like Firestarter and Pumpkinhead have been given the green light for big-budget remakes.

Now Kino Lorber is giving some deserved love to this obscure 1987 treasure with a sparkling new 4K transfer restoration and limited theatrical engagement this summer, followed by a deluxe Blu-ray release in time for Halloween.
