Hi dear Blu-ray lovers. Sorry I'm french and I don't speak german
(it's been a while... I have learned basis at the middle
school, sorry).
I discovered and started to read this thread few days ago after a
"googlize" session . We experience the same problem in France for
almotst 10 years.
There r multiple causes about these defective BD discs, at least in
our country, the first cause is an industrial incident with a
french based disc factory named QOL (Quantum Optical Laboratories),
so many french Blu-ray disc titles
(from Gaumont, Pathé,
EuropaCorp, Wild Side, etc...) are defective from 2008
to 2015. Please avoid them, especially in the second-hand market.
Maybe you've heard about it ? Let me know.
An another cause could be
(it's almost sure) a bad aging
(because of poor materials or corrupted resin used during the
manufacturing process) even with a the good storage conditions
wich Blu-ray lovers are aware with.
Sometimes the hardware could be implicated with a curious behavior,
because the OPU is aged and the lens would be dusted or worned out.
So, the large amount, the high density of data stored on those
discs needs a perfect tracking and a flawless
correction.
But there's still something wrong with these BD discs and I know
myself more than good the problem because I have a BD
collection about 6K movies, concerts; documentaries etc... and I
get almost 200 defective BDs. I stopped testing few
years ago and drastically limited my BD purchases (HD & 4K).
I prefer to buy in the second-hand stores where I can see
discs and read IFPI data, before paying. It allow me to avoid many
problems now.
So, I decided in 2016 with friends I met on different french
forums, to stard a website about this problem and above all
to identify potentially defective BDs.
"Blu-ray défectueux" means in german "Fehlerhafte Blu-ray"
Regards.
