Gran Turismo 5’s Red Bull X1 Prototype Revealed (w/Specs!)

The no-holds-barred prototype developed by Polyphony Digital and Red Bull has been revealed in the latest issue of Car magazine in the UK! As you may recall, the X1 is the answer to Kazunori Yamauchi’s question: “If you built the fastest racing car on land, one that throws aside all rules and regulations, what would that car look like, how would it perform, and how would it feel to drive?”
It’s been developed in conjunction with Formula 1’s most renowned aerodynamicist, Adrian Newey, and their star F1 driver, Sebastian Vettel. So far, we’ve only seen teaser shots, but now we get a much closer look along with some impressive specifications:

  • Engine: gas turbine, 1483bhp @ 15,000RPM, 527lb ft @ 12,000RPM

  • Transmission: continuously variable, rear-wheel drive

  • Top Speed: 249mph

  • Weight: 545kg

  • Length/Width/Height: 4750/2180/980mm

  • Suzuka Lap Time: 1:11.540 (compare with Vettel’s 2009 F1 lap time of 1:30.833)

  • Special Features: enclosed wheels, “fan element” to increase low and medium-speed downforce (much like a vacuum cleaner)

Also das ist ja wohl der Oberhammer, bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass man das Teil nicht erst bekommt, wenn man 99,99% des Spiels geschafft hat, und das somit das letzte Auto ist.

schlecht wäre es nicht, dann hat mann wenigstens nen grund alles zu spielen und überall zu siegen :D

Anstatt neue autos einzupflegen sollten die das spiel releasen, paar autos kann mann noch als dlc anbieten.

Na mal schauen wo der nächste MM hier in Niederlande ist, sitze zur Zeit in Münster fest, wollte mir so oder so bissel Holland ansehen, denke mal da werde ich nen Abstecher zum MM machen u. mal hoffen das ich das eine oder andere GT5 im Steel ergattern kann.

Gran Turismo 5: Yamauchi spricht über Motorräder


In “Gran Turismo 5″ könnten die Spieler früher oder später mit Motorrädern über die virtuellen Pisten rasen. Zwar sei die Integration nicht in der finalen Fassung enthalten, prinzipiell stehe das Studio rund um Mastermind Kazunori Yamauchi den zweirädrigen Gefährten nicht ablehnend gegenüber.
“Unsere jetzige Entwicklungsumgebung erlaubt es uns, Motorräder fahren zu lassen, aber wir müssen Gran Turismo 5 zuerst fertigstellen”, so Yamauchi gegenüber dem PSM3-Magazin. “Sobald dies geschehen ist, ist es etwas, das wir bei einer starken Nachfrage in Betracht ziehen werden.”
Die Frage ist, wie lange eine solche Integration, die womöglich in Form eines DLCs veröffentlicht wird, auf sich warten lässt.
