Arnie Gerücht dementiert

laut AICN meldet sich nun Robert Rodriguez zu Wort und spricht außerdem über das Gerücht Arnie's Rückkehr in Predators.

Actually, what probably happened is someone conjured that up because of my 1994 draft, that had Dutch as a main character. And then it probably just built from there.

But no, we're still writing a new script, and although I know Arnold personally and he's the coolest person on the planet, I have not contacted him about this at all at this time.
As promised, I'll keep you posted on such developments since Predator is such a fan favorite.

But then again, he could very well have told someone he'd be into it. Who knows?
Personally, I haven't heard anything. But it's still early in the day.

Nachdem man "angeblich" einen Regisseur in Neil Marshall (DOOMSDAY) für Robert Rodriguez's PREDATORS gefunden hat, gibt es auch schon einen Starttermin von Fox für die Veröffentlichung des Neuanfangs, mit dem man hoffentlich neuen Schwung in das Franchise bringen wird. 20th Century Fox hat sich für den 08. Juli 2010 (in Deutschland) entschieden. Ein kluger Schachzug, da bis jetzt noch nicht viele Blockbuster im Sommer 2010 starten. In diesem Monat befindet sich in unserer Datenbank bis jetzt nur PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME; der allerdings erst am Monatsende anläuft. Gute Zeichen für ein Reboot?

Ein guter Schachzug, aber ob der wirklich so gut ist, weiß ich nicht. Den wie es mir bekannt ist, wird in Juli auch Twilight 3, Shrek 4 und die mit Spannung erwartete Superheldenverfilmung "The Green Hornet - Die grüne Hornisse". Da muss ich sagen, Predators 3 haben da schon eine Konkurenzkampf zu erwarten, zudem ja noch "M. Night Shyamalan's Avatar: The Last Airbender" auch im Juli in die Kinos kommen wird, der nach meiner Meinung, eine geringe Rolle spielen wird, obwohl wer kann das so schon genau sagen. Ich freue mich auf Predators 3, aber ob ich ihn dann im Kino anschaue, wird sich zum späteren Zeitpunkt herausstellen.

Ain't it Cool News' Harry Knowles gave a ring to Robert Rodriguez to get confirmation on who's at the helm of Predators, 20th Century Fox's next film in the franchise. And it is Nimrod Antal, the man behind the upcoming action flick Armored and who last dabbled in the thriller genre with Vacancy. You'll recall Latino Review broke Antal's potential involvement here.

Rodriguez, who is shepherding the project, says the story involves "a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors - that are not always from outside their group. So like the original movie, the title does have a double meaning. 'Aliens' was a different take on the Alien idea, and an original movie in it's own right, and that's what we want to do with this."

Klingt ganz gut, bin sehr gespannt auf den fertigen Film. Naja da heisst es noch 1 Jahr warten.

Viele Regisseure waren im Gespräch für Predators, nur ein Regisseur konnte es am Ende werden. Motel-Regisseur Nimrod Antal wird den von Robert Rodriguez produzierten Film für 20th Century Fox umsetzen.
Rodgriguez selbst gab einige Details über die Handlung bekannt. Der Film handelt von einer Gruppe Menschen, die auf dem Heimatplaneten der Predatorsunbeschreiblichem Horror ausgeliefert sind, jedoch nicht immer nur von außerhalb der Gruppe.
Wie der Originalfilm hat auch der Titel Predators eine doppelte Bedeutung. Rodriguez vergleicht dies mit Alien. So wie Aliens - Die Rückkehr eine Neuerfindung der Thematik war, wird auch sein Baby nicht einfach nur eine Kopie der Vorgänger, sondern ein eigenständiger Film.
